Our Programmes
Three Programmes, One Clear Purpose
Each programme is designed for a specific stage of the journey — from a first quiet look at the household picture, through to a detailed private review just before retirement. All three are educational in character and carry no product agenda.
Back to HomeOur Approach to Financial Education
All three Padang programmes share the same underlying principles, regardless of their length or format.
Teaching, Not Advising
Our role is to help participants understand the landscape — the rules, the options, the trade-offs. What a participant decides to do with that understanding is entirely their own affair.
Sufficient Time for Every Topic
Sessions are not presentations to be endured. They are conversations with structure. Questions are welcomed, and if a topic needs more time, more time is given.
Current and Accurate Content
CPF rules, SRS limits, MediShield Life provisions and tax regulations change. All programme content is reviewed and updated annually, with interim updates whenever a material change is introduced.
Programme I
The Verandah Discussions
Three-Week Introductory Series
A three-week introductory series for adults aged forty and above who would like to spend three calm evenings thinking about their household financial picture in good company. Evening one is a settling-in conversation about where the household stands. Evening two looks at the next ten to fifteen years — the question of working life and how it changes, and the role of CPF in a Singapore household. Evening three considers the longer view: investments, protection and the matter of writing things down. Held in a small seminar room with a verandah view, with light refreshments and a printed booklet to take home.
What You Gain
- A clear picture of where the household currently stands
- An introduction to the CPF timeline from your current age to sixty-five
- A first look at investments and protection, without pressure to act
- A printed reference booklet to keep
Programme Steps
Evening One — The Household Picture: Where things stand now, income, expenditure, savings and the CPF balances you have accumulated.
Evening Two — The Next Ten to Fifteen Years: CPF in the working years, the SRS and the approach of the Retirement Sum milestone at fifty-five.
Evening Three — The Longer View: Investments, life protection, medical reserves, and the importance of having things written down for the family.

Programme II
The Singapore Retirement Planning Course
Eight-Week Course
An eight-week course for those approaching retirement in Singapore who would like to understand the rules and choices in detail. The course covers the CPF Retirement Sum framework from age fifty-five, the choices around CPF LIFE plans from sixty-five onward, the Supplementary Retirement Scheme and its tax treatment, the question of housing equity and possible rightsizing, the place of an annuity in a household income strategy, and the careful matter of medical costs in later life. The course is educational. It does not recommend specific products; its purpose is to leave participants better able to read the choices in front of them.
What You Gain
- A detailed understanding of the CPF Retirement Sum and LIFE framework
- Clarity on SRS contributions, tax treatment and withdrawal rules
- A framework for thinking about housing equity and rightsizing
- A realistic picture of medical costs in later life and how to plan for them
- Comprehensive printed materials covering all eight topics

Programme III
The Private Retirement Review
Five-Session Bespoke Programme
A five-session bespoke programme for individuals and couples within five years of their planned retirement who would like a careful private review of their household picture. The first session gathers the household papers and listens to what the household would like the next twenty-five years to look like. Subsequent sessions consider cash flow in retirement, the investment portfolio and any rebalancing it may benefit from, the question of protection and medical reserves, and the writing of a household summary document that family members can refer to. The programme is educational and is held in a quiet private seminar room.
What You Gain
- A private, unhurried review of your household's complete financial picture
- A clear assessment of retirement cash flow needs and sources
- An educated view of the investment portfolio and its current structure
- A household summary document that belongs entirely to you
Five-Session Arc
Gathering the Papers: What the household has, what it earns, what it spends, and what it would like the retirement years to look like.
Cash Flow in Retirement: CPF LIFE income, SRS withdrawals, rental income if applicable, and the shape of household expenditure once employment stops.
The Investment Portfolio: A review of what is held, how it is structured, and whether the current allocation is appropriate for a household approaching retirement.
Protection and Medical Reserves: Life cover, MediShield Life, Integrated Shield Plans and what the household may need in later life.
The Household Summary Document: A written record of the household's financial structure, key decisions and reference points — for the family to keep.
