About Padang and These Terms

Padang operates at 11 Cluny Road, #02-14, Singapore 259572. Our contact details are: telephone +65 6273 6148; email [email protected].

These terms apply to the three programmes currently offered by Padang: The Verandah Discussions (three-week introductory series), The Singapore Retirement Planning Course (eight-week course), and The Private Retirement Review (five-session bespoke programme). References in these terms to "programme" include all three unless a specific programme is named.

By submitting an enrolment, you agree to these terms. These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.

II

Nature of the Programmes

Padang's programmes are educational in character. They are designed to help participants understand the financial landscape relevant to retirement in Singapore — including CPF, SRS, housing equity, investments, protection and medical planning — so that participants are better placed to make their own informed decisions.

Padang does not provide financial advice, investment advice, insurance advice or any other regulated financial service. Nothing said or written in the course of a programme should be understood as a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any financial product or instrument, or as advice on any individual's personal financial circumstances.

Participants who wish to act on matters discussed in a programme should seek appropriate professional advice from a licensed financial adviser, insurance adviser, or other qualified professional.

III

Enrolment and Payment

Enrolment is confirmed upon receipt of the programme fee in full. Places are allocated in order of confirmed payment. Confirmation of enrolment will be sent by email within two working days of payment being received.

Programme fees are as follows:

  • The Verandah Discussions: SGD 290 per person (inclusive of all sessions, printed materials and light refreshments)
  • The Singapore Retirement Planning Course: SGD 450 per person (inclusive of all eight sessions and printed materials)
  • The Private Retirement Review: SGD 770 per household (inclusive of all five sessions and the household summary document)

All fees are quoted inclusive of applicable GST at the prevailing rate.

IV

Cancellation and Rescheduling

Cancellation by participants. If you cancel your enrolment fourteen or more calendar days before the first session of your programme, we will refund the programme fee in full. If you cancel fewer than fourteen days before the first session, no refund will be given. If you are unable to attend a session within a programme you have commenced, we will endeavour to make reasonable alternative arrangements where possible.

Cancellation or rescheduling by Padang. In the event that Padang needs to cancel or reschedule a programme session, we will give as much notice as possible. If a programme is cancelled in its entirety before it has commenced, a full refund will be provided. If a session is rescheduled, we will offer the earliest available alternative date.

Private Retirement Review. For the Private Retirement Review, which is arranged individually, rescheduling of individual sessions is possible with at least forty-eight hours' notice. Sessions cancelled with less than forty-eight hours' notice may be forfeited without refund.

V

Programme Content and Materials

All programme materials, including printed booklets, slides and written content, are the intellectual property of Padang. Participants may use these materials for their personal reference. Materials may not be reproduced, distributed or used for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.

Programme content is reviewed and updated regularly. We reserve the right to adjust the content of any session to reflect changes in applicable law, CPF rules, SRS limits or other relevant regulatory changes. Such adjustments do not constitute a material change to the programme and do not give rise to a right of cancellation or refund.

VI

Conduct and Participation

Our programmes are conducted in a calm, considered setting. We ask participants to treat the educators and other participants with courtesy and respect. Padang reserves the right to ask a participant to leave a session if their conduct is disruptive or distressing to others. In such circumstances, no refund will be provided.

Sessions are not recorded by Padang. Participants may take personal notes. Recording of sessions by participants — by any means — is not permitted without our prior written consent.

VII

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Padang's liability in connection with any programme is limited to the amount of the programme fee paid by the participant. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential or financial loss arising from attendance at or reliance on any programme content.

This limitation does not affect any rights you may have under Singapore consumer protection law that cannot be excluded or limited.

VIII

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your enrolment are those in effect at the time your enrolment is confirmed. We will notify enrolled participants of any material changes that may affect their participation.

IX
